Self Publishing

After harboring my dream of publishing children’s books for more than 10 years, and after potty training my youngest (who was three at the time), I decided there was no time like the present.  I was not patient enough to submit my work to various publishing companies and to wait for years hoping they would love it (I had already waited too many years).  Besides, I wanted my book the way I wanted it, not the way someone else thought it should be, so I set out to find information on self-publishing. The amount of “how to” information on the web about self-publishing was overwhelming.  I felt small and insignificant and well….OVERWHELMED.  I didn’t want to pay the self-publishing companies the steep fees they were asking and, in several cases, receive only one copy of my book.  And then there was the legitimacy of the company…You have to be careful with copyrights and ISBN numbers.  Another thing… who could I find to illustrate my book, and if I did get lucky enough to find someone, could I afford to pay them what they might charge?

To make a long story short, after two years of searching, and when all seemed doomed to failure, I found a wonderful illustrator, stumbled onto a fabulous printing company, created my own publishing company, and I am on my way.

So… if you are a diamond in the rough and want to take advantage of my self-discoveries, we at Little Tadpole Books would love to help you realize your dream.  We have several affordable self-publishing options that allow you to do as much, or as little as you want on your own.  We will tailor your self-publishing experience to fit you!
